Uber trip profit calculator: is this ride worth it?
Compare a trip offer using driver payout, total driving distance and total time. This calculator lets you try different cost scenarios without creating an account or accepting a ride for you.
Check distance and time together. The estimated balance deducts only the costs you include in your cost-per-mile input.
Calculator: is this ride worth it?
Enter the offer and your estimated cost per mile. Include pickup distance and any extra unpaid driving you expect.
An estimate, not guaranteed profit. The balance deducts only the cost per mile you enter; it does not automatically include fees, taxes, financing or fixed costs. It never accepts trips for you. Your numbers stay in your browser.
Enter the complete trip, not just paid miles
Enter the offered driver payout. Keep pickup miles, passenger miles and expected empty return or extra driving separate.
Total time should include pickup, expected waiting, the passenger trip and any entered return. Your cost per mile may include fuel, maintenance and depreciation based on your records; the calculator does not add those items automatically.
- Enter payout and driving distances.
- Estimate total time.
- Enter your cost per mile.
- Compare the balance and rates with your targets.
Understand what the balance includes
A $18.00 payout for 12 miles and 30 minutes gives $1.50 per mile and $36.00 per hour before costs. With an entered cost of $0.35 per mile, the estimate deducts $4.20.
The estimated balance is $13.80, equivalent to $27.60 per hour. Taxes, fixed expenses or financing not included in the entered cost still need to be considered.
Estimated balance = payout − (total miles × entered cost per mile)
Compare scenarios instead of assuming the next ride
Add minutes for traffic or expected waiting. Try extra unpaid miles when the destination might require repositioning. Check how each assumption affects the estimated balance.
No calculator can guarantee traffic or future demand. Safety, destination and your own constraints matter too. Use the calculator only while safely parked, never while driving.
Fictional numbers for illustration. These are not average driver earnings, current fuel prices or a promise of profit. Make adjustments only while safely parked.
